Enel and Enel Green Power are considering the integration the renewable energy subsidiary into Enel’s operations.
In a press release in response to media speculation on the deal, including the selection of legal and financial advisors, the two Italian companies acknowledged integration was under consideration.
The “possible implementation of this corporate integration is not due to involve any public offer by Enel to purchase and/or exchange EGP shares”, the companies said.
They added that “Enel and EGP will promptly inform the market of any decisions adopted by their respective boards concerning the transaction”.
