Dong Energy’s 209MW Horns Rev offshore wind farm will be offline until at least 25 November following development of a problem with its subsea export cable.
Transmission operator Energinet.dk said preparations are underway to fix a fault around 800 metres from the offshore substation but that even with good weather it will be more than a month before normal operations are resumed.
The TSO said it remains “too early” to indicate the cause of the fault, which shut down export early on 19 October.
“It is still very uncertain when we can be finished with the repair, much depends on the weather,” said team leader Jesper Ferlov Greth.
“It if is blowing too much or the waves are too high, it is not possible to work. November 25 is therefore a very tentative date.”
