A2Sea jack-up Sea Challenger has arrived at the port of Eemshaven in the Netherlands in preparation for the installation of 66 transition pieces for the 396MW Merkur offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The first transition pieces are expected to be installed later this week or early next week, an A2Sea spokeswoman told reNEWS.
Merkur is being developed by a consortium featuring Partners Group, InfraRed Capital Partners, DEME Concessions and Coriolis.
The project will consist of 66 GE Haliade 150 6MW turbines slated for commissioning in 2019.
