Ailes Marines has completed work on the array cable routes for the 496MW Saint-Brieuc offshore wind project off France.
The Aethra vessel, chartered by Prysmian, has completed the job almost five weeks ahead of schedule, the Iberdrola-owned developer said.
Drilling work is still continuing on the northern zone of the park.
Aethra is now leaving the bay of Saint-Brieuc for its home port and will be back in the Saint-Brieuc area in 2022 to resume of the project’s second construction campaign.
In order to allow fishing activities in the park, Ailes Marines will bury most of the array cables, totalling 90km, following discussions with the various parties, including the Maritime Prefecture.
Ailes Marines’s drilling and pile driving operations are focused only on the northern area of the project site, in order to allow fishing activities to continue in the southern part.
The Saint-Brieuc project has been designed in such a way as to allow fishing activities to continue, through the orientation of the layout, spacing between wind turbines as well as the burial of cables.
