The four remaining developers successful in Taiwan’s latest offshore wind auction have filed their administrative contracts for the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in Taiwan.
Of the five allotted Round 3.2 operators in the offshore wind procurement round, one had already submitted its contract.
The MOEA said the remaining four submitted their contract application documents for signing last week.
These will be reviewed by the MOEA in accordance with relevant regulations.
The MOEA said it wanted to thank domestic and international operators for their continued investment in Taiwan’s offshore wind power market.
According to statistics from the Global Wind Energy Council, Taiwan ranked as the fifth largest country in the world for offshore wind power installations in 2024.
A spokesperson for the MOEA said: “The Ministry of Economic Affairs will continue to work with various operators to promote Taiwan’s energy transition and green electricity supply, and will collaboratively promote offshore wind power installation through public-private partnerships to achieve the important goal of energy transition.”
Grid connection for the Round 3.2 developments is targeted for 2028 to 2030.
