Damen Shiprepair & Conversion has completed an upgrade of DEME Offshore jack-up Apollo, which is now ready to sail to the port of Ostend in Belgium to start work on the 487MW Seamade offshore wind farm.
The vessel has had its spudcan shoes extended at Damen’s yard in Dunkirk.

Damen said that by placing an extension under each spudcan, the jack-up can get more stability on a wider variety of seabed soils.
Apollo will install 58 Siemens Gamesa 8.4MW turbines with 167-metre rotor diameters at the project off the coast of Belgium.
The wind farm is being developed by Otary.
