Belgian marine contractor DEME has begun mobilising jack-up Apollo for its first jobs in offshore wind and oil and gas.
The newbuild vessel has left Croatia’s Uljanik shipyard and is bound for the Dutch port of Vlissingen where it will prepare for an undisclosed first assignment, the company said.
DEME said the vessel, which comes equipped with 106.8 metre-long lattice legs, will mostly be put to work by oil and gas subsidiary EverSea.
One of the Apollo’s first jobs will be to dismantle the unmanned Q1 Halfweg platform in the Dutch North Sea.
DEME said the jack-up will bring the platform and its four legs ashore at the end of this year as part of a decommissioning gig for Petrogas E&P Netherlands BV.
