Atlas has been working with Orsted since 2013, recruiting for the company’s wind farms in Denmark, Germany and the UK. It is one of five agencies selected to provide specialist personnel for the 750MW Borssele 1&2 project.

This will include the supply of professionals for companies in the project’s supply chain, such as wind turbine manufacturer and installer Siemens Gamesa, cabling solutions company Nexans and dredging and heavylift provider Boskalis.

Atlas will oversee recruitment from its offices in Bristol, UK, and Hoofddorp in The Netherlands. Its Vlissingen office – which is local to Borssele 1&2 – will also play a central role supporting with local content.

When completed in 2020 Borssele 1&2 will be the largest offshore wind farm in The Netherlands and will be critical in enabling the country to meet its goal of increasing renewable energy in the mix to 14% by 2020 and 16% by 2023.

Atlas Professionals commercial manager renewables Marine Rondeel said: “Borssele 1&2 is a landmark renewables initiative for the Netherlands and, as a Dutch-based company, we are proud to have been chosen by Ørsted to supply it with personnel.

“This is an excellent addition to the several frame agreements we already have in place with Orsted, and we look forward to providing the company and its suppliers with the skilled, specialist services they need to drive this pioneering project forward.”
