Atlas Professionals has secured a contract with Orsted to supply local workers for operations and maintenance on the 900MW Greater Changhua offshore wind farm off Taiwan.
Atlas will source 14 local professionals for the contract from its office in Taipei.
The main recruitment activities will take place in the first two quarters of 2021, with the first two professionals starting afterwards.
The selected local professionals, to be part of Orsted’s maintenance team, will be trained and prepared to be ready for action for the first quarter of 2022.
The professionals need to have fluent English skills and good communication skills to undergo national and international technical training courses.
Candidates will have professional backgrounds in fields such as motors and machinery, good physical fitness, and the willingness to work at sea and high altitude.
Atlas renewables director Martine Rondeel said: “It is a real challenge finding qualified and experienced professionals in Taiwan. However, we are impressed by the interest in joining the offshore wind industry so far.
“Working in close collaboration with our clients, local education institutions and local government, we are eager to help preparing the workforce for offshore wind industry in Taiwan.”
After receiving complete training, covered by Atlas and Orsted, the technicians will be engaged in the operations and maintenance of the Greater Changhua wind farm, which will be located 35 to 60 kilometres off the Changhua coastline.
