Attentive Energy has announced it is to enter an as yet unnamed wind project into New Jersey’s Fourth Offshore Wind Solicitation (NJ4).
The developer said the proposed 1.3GW project “is a forward-thinking strategy to propel New Jersey’s offshore wind industry forward while safeguarding our environment and creating local workforce and business opportunities”.
“This proposal builds on the momentum and success of the AE2 project and the State’s leading commitments to offshore wind transmission and infrastructure,” the developer added.
Attentive added when completed the wind farm will power 650,000 NJ homes annually and “deliver up to $110m in community investments, focused on sustainability workforce development, labour, environmental justice, education, and more”.
The move follows news Shell and EDF’s 2.8GW Atlantic Shores 1&2 projects were also making a run in the NJ4 solicitation round.
