Axys Technologies has deployed its WindSentinel floating lidar buoy at the site of Ailes Marines’s proposed 496MW Bay of Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm off the coast of Brittany in France.
The buoy will be deployed for a minimum of 12 months to gather wind speed and direction data up to heights of 200 metres, the company said.
It will also collect metocean data, including directional waves, ocean currents, tide, salinity, water temperature, atmospheric pressure and air temperature.
Axys president and chief executive Terry Tarle said: “Axys is delighted to work with Ailes Marines to support the development phase of this offshore wind farm in France.”
