Bernhard Schulte’s latest offshore wind service operation vessel (SOV) has been floated out, from Ultstein Verft’s yard number 315.
The SOV was floated out from the yard’s dock hall on 26 January 2020.
Contracted on 31 July 2018, the vessel will support the maintenance work by GE Renewable Energy at the German offshore wind farm Merkur.
The hybrid vessel is positioned in the outer dock for further outfitting and testing. Sea trials are scheduled to start early March.
The painting of the vessel’s exterior was completed prior to the float-out.
The commissioning stage of the project is ongoing. The switchboards have been powered up and main engines started.
In addition, the provision crane has been tested and testing of the davits have commenced.
The inclining test is scheduled for the end of next month.
The vessel is equipped with a battery hybrid system, with the energy management system having been recently presented to the Shipowner’s representatives.
The vessel is Ulstein’s third offshore wind vessel for Bernhard Schulte, following Windea La Cour and Windea Leibniz.
