The BSH has determined that two areas German North Sea EEZ are suitable for offshore wind energy use, clearing the way for a tender.
The two areas, N-10.1 and N-10.2, will be auctioned by the BSH in 2025, according to the BSH Area Development Plan from 2023. The deadline for bidding is August 1, 2025.
The areas are located in the North Sea and cover a total of 182 square kilometers, with a combined capacity of 2.5GW.
The N-10.1 area spans 151 square kilometres with an installed capacity of 2GW. It is approximately 110 kilometres from Juist, the closest German island, and about 115 kilometres from Rottumerplaat, the nearest Dutch island.
N-10.2 covers 31 square kilometres with 500MW capacity to be installed.
This area is located approximately 109 kilometres from Juist. The shortest distance to the nearest Dutch island of Rottumerplaat is about 113 kilometres.
