Bladt Industries has installed a helideck on the first of three substation topsides for Dong Energy’s 1.2GW Hornsea 1 offshore wind farm, which will located off the coast of Yorkshire in the UK.
The Danish fabricator has a contract to construct the steel structures for the three topsides.
Each substation will weigh 2800 tonnes, Bladt said.
Hornsea 1 will consist of 174 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines and is scheduled to be operational in 2020.
