Bladt Industries has completed the first lifting operation of an external platform onto the upper jacket structure of a foundation for the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm.
The Danish outfit is providing 30 four-legged jacket foundations for the wind farm.
The jackets will have a height of up to approximately 70 metres and weigh approximately 900 tonnes, Bladt said.
Smulders Group is providing a further 28 jackets and BiFab the remaining 26 foundations for the project, which will be located in the outer Moray Firth.
Seaway Heavy Lifting awarded the contracts for the foundations, having been appointed an EPCI contractor for the wind farm.
Beatrice will comprise 84 Siemens 7MW turbines.
