The first batch of GE 6MW Haliade 150 turbine blades to feature at the 30MW Block Island offshore wind farm in the US have arrived at the ProvPort facility in Providence.
Developer Deepwater Wind said some 15 LM Wind Power-made blades were unloaded on Tuesday. The tower sections began arriving earlier this month.
Turbine installation is due to begin in August. The project will feature 5 of the GE turbines and will be the first offshore wind farm in the US.
Meanwhile, Deepwater also said the installation of submarine cables is making “significant progress” with array cabling to begin in July.
