Dutch wind specialist Ventolines has been hired by Deepwater Wind to supervise the installation of the five turbines for the 30MW Block Island offshore wind farm 5km off the coast of Rhode Island.
Ventolines director Anne de Groot said: “For this project, Ventolines will bring in people that were involved in the first offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.
“This type of pioneering assignments fits very well with our company and the people who work for us.
“There is a huge interest in offshore wind power in the United States. For us it is a great opportunity to expand our services.”
