Seaway Heavy Lifting has wrapped up foundation installation at a 200MW offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, being developed by Trianel.
The last of 32 Steelwind Nordenham-manufactured monopiles supplied by a Sif-Smulders joint venture was recently installed by crane vessel Stanislav Yudin at the Borkum West 2.2 project, a source said.
All but one of the project’s transition pieces have also been installed, with the final piece expected to go in within days.
Sif produced the primary steel for the transition pieces, while Smulders was responsible for secondary steel and outfitting.
The project will feature 32 Senvion 6.3MW machines and is scheduled to be fully operational before the end of 2019.
Jan De Nul vessel Vole au Vent is expected to commence turbine installation in April.
