Dutch grid company Alliander is to buy green certificates generated by Orsted’s 752MW Borssele 1&2 offshore wind farm off the Dutch coast.
Alliander said the deal will mean its carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by between 23% and 28% each year.

The 15-year deal will start in 2021.
Alliander CO2 emissions are mainly due to grid losses that arise during the transport of energy.
The company said it uses 1500 gigawatt hours of electrical energy each year in this way.
