Scotland-based Briggs Marine has placed an order for a Damen Multi Cat 2712 as it looks to extend its fleet.
Among the largest in the Damen Multi Cat range, the 27-metre model is currently being fitted out at the company’s Hardinxveld shipyard in the Netherlands. It will be delivered in June.
The vessel, named the Forth Warrior, includes a DPS-1 system for use in offshore wind farm support works.
Briggs Marine’s Graham Gray said the deal would extend the company’s relationship with Damen.
“They have many synergies with Briggs in that they have a strong maritime heritage and are family owned,” said Gray.
“Previously they have designed and built some of our multiple-role vessels that undertake varied assignments in diverse marine environments.”
He added: “Briggs has a reputation for delivering high quality, cost effective marine solutions in diverse challenging environments on time and in budget.
“Therefore it is important to have a highly versatile fleet that can provide a wide range of services with excellent utilisation.”
