German company Global Renewables Shipbrokers (GRS) has extended its business model to provide turnkey brokerage services for the offshore wind sector.
GRS will now also assist clients in sourcing turnkey contractors for any work that might occur during the life-cycle of an offshore wind farm, as well as continuing to provide chartering and sale and purchase brokerage for vessels.
The company said it has already sourced turnkey contractors for scour protection, dredging, remedial cable burial, geotechnical site investigation and a subsea inspection, maintenance and repair campaign.
GRS managing partner Matthias Mross said: “We are basically acting as an extended, external purchasing department for our clients, cooperating closely with them and saving them efforts and time while ensuring to cover any relevant player in the market with their requirement.
“In the projects we have placed so far we have thus been able to archive considerable costs savings through the increased competition we created.”
