Chinese engineering, procurement and construction company Huadian Heavy Industries has secured a deal as the turnkey contractor at Binhai Smart Wind Power’s 300MW Binhai South offshore wind farm in China.
HHI said its scope includes manufacturing and installation of 75 monopiles as well as a foundation for the offshore substation.
Installation of the projects turbines as well as manufacturing of associated towers are also included, as is elements of the cable laying.
Total value of the deal is Rmb1.6bn yuan (€200m). No timeline for completion has been communicated.
HHI said the contract consolidates its position in the domestic offshore wind business.
Binhai South is located 36km off Yancheng City in Binhai County, Jiangsu Province.
Water depths at the site are around 18 metres.
