CNOOC plans to boost its offshore wind power capacity by about 40% this year to 3500MW.
The figure was given by chairman Zhang Chuanjiang, as reported by China Petrochem Magazine, an industrial news outlet.

The magazine earlier reported that the state-owned producer has partnered with Ming Yang Smart Energy Group to deploy advanced turbine models off China’s southern provinces.
Official data from the National Energy Administration shows China’s offshore wind capacity has reached 47GW, about 10% of the country’s onshore fleets.
Beijing has pledged to double combined wind and solar capacity by 2035 while installations accelerate as wind technology supports solar’s lack of night-time output.
