Copenhagen Energy has finalised the wind measurement strategy for its Northern Luzon offshore wind project in the Philippines.
According to the developer, the outcome is twofold: first, a confirmation of the initial desktop energy production estimates and secondly, selection of the optimal technology and set-up for onsite wind measurements.
This confirms the Northern Luzon site, which it is developing with PetroEnergy Resources Corporation, is the absolute best site in the Philippines, Copenhagen Energy said.
The wind measurement strategy was developed in close collaboration with DNV, positioning the developer to start the task of confirming the site-specific wind data for precise energy production estimates.
The data will be collected through a combination of onshore met masts and LiDAR instruments.
Together with PetroEnergy Resources Corporation, Copenhagen Energy is developing three offshore wind projects across the Philippines with total expected capacity of 4GW.
