The Correll Group has received a contract to deliver offshore pull-ins and termination & testing for Denmark’s Vesterhav Nord and Syd wind farms’ 66kV export and inter-array submarine cables.
The contract, awarded to the group’s Cable Installation & Power Services Division by Asso.subsea, covers a total of four export and 37 inter-array cables, for a total of more than 70km.
Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord will comprise a total of 41 Siemens Gamesa 8.4MW turbines with a combined capacity of 344.4MW. When fully commissioned, the wind farms are expected to generate 1.57TWh of green power a year, which will be sufficient to meet the energy needs of 380,000 households in Denmark.
Sam Dowey, Managing Director at Correll, said: “This contract firmly establishes Correll as a leading service provider to the offshore renewable sector. By utilising an integrated team that combines cable-pull and termination & testing activities is a major step forward in improving offshore efficiencies, and it is immensely gratifying to know that our efforts have been recognised by Asso.subsea, with this ‘repeat business’ contract award.”
