EDF Renewables and ESB have restated their commitment to building the 450MW Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm with as much local Scottish content as possible.
Project director Matthias Haag wrote in a project update that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been unprecedented but underlined that work on the project is ongoing.
“Like the majority of people across the UK, and in line with government advice, the NnG project team are all currently working from home but as hard as ever, to deliver what will be an incredible project for Scotland,” he said.
“I understand how tough it must be for many businesses within the supply chain during these difficult times, and one of the biggest challenges for businesses across the world is the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic.”
He added: “However, I want to reassure you that we remain as committed as we always have been to making sure Scotland benefits as much as possible from this project.”
NnG is to feature Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines and is due to be fully commissioned in 2023.
