Crown Estate Scotland is press ahead with the launch of the up to 10GW ScotWind leasing round this spring as planned but may tweak timings of certain deadline dates to take account of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
A spokesman for the seabed leasing agency said the launch will “fully adhere” to government guidance on the novel coronavirus.
“Clearly, we are aware that the current COVID-19 situation may potentially increase the time that organisations require in order to submit applications to ScotWind Leasing,” said a spokesman.
“As a result, we will take this in to account when we confirm the timescale and next steps for the process, which we hope to do in the coming weeks.”
The spokesman added: “With this being a fast moving and constantly evolving situation, we will continue to keep this approach under regular review.”
CES counterpart for England and Wales Crown Estate on Friday said it was altering certain deadlines during its 7GW Round 4 to take account of the COVID-19 outbreak.
