The Crown Estate has started a review of final consultation responses for its proposed up to 7GW Round 4 offshore wind leasing round in the UK.
The seabed landlord said it has received feedback from a range of stakeholders, including at events held in November that were attended by more than 130 industry representatives.
Interested parties were invited to share their views on the proposed tender design as well as the regions of seabed around England and Wales that has been suggested.
CE said it will review all the feedback before sharing a further update later this year ahead of a proposed lease round start date in the spring.
CE business development manager Jonny Boston said: “As we work to finalise our plans for Round 4, we’ve been delighted to see high levels of engagement from both the market and stakeholders, and we are grateful to everyone who has taken time to share their views.
“The feedback we have received will form an important input to our work to balance a range of interests on the seabed, as we seek to design a leasing process which is fair, responsible and competitive and which will help deliver on the UK’s low-carbon energy needs for decades to come.”
Following the formal launch of Round 4, CE expects to hold a bidders’ information day to set out further details about the tender process including the pre-qualification and invitation to tender stages.
