CS Wind Offshore has received the Final Notice to Proceed for transition pieces for Vattenfall’s Nordlicht 2 offshore wind farm.
The company said the confirmation follows Vattenfall securing an irrevocable permit in January and taking the full Final Investment Decision for both Nordlicht 1 and 2.
CS Wind Offshore added that the scope covers 68 transition pieces for Nordlicht 1 and 44 for Nordlicht 2, with production scheduled for 2026–2027.
The transition pieces will each measure 23.7m in height, 7.8m in diameter and weigh 400 tons.
Rene Schuster, package manager, foundations, Vattenfall, said: “Reliable partners and early preparation are key to delivering complex offshore projects at scale, and we appreciate the strong commitment from the CS Wind team as we slowly move from the running execution phase for Nordlicht I into the preparation phase for Nordlicht II.”
CS Wind Offshore stated that the Aalborg site will be close to fully utilised through the year and that the milestone also supports its supplier network.
