CWind Taiwan has been awarded a contract by WPD to provide a crew transfer vessel (CTV) for the 640MW YunNeng offshore wind project off the island’s coast.
The CTV will be deployed during the two-year construction phase that got underway in mid-2020.
CWind Taiwan will deploy its CTV, CWind Phantom, following the successful delivery of bathymetry surveys at the wind farm site.
The vessel will support the crew transfer for the construction works, at the 80 turbine-site.
CWind Phantom was imported and reflagged in 2019 by CWind Taiwan and has carried out numerous crew transfer projects since then. The vessel is conducting an unexploded ordnance survey at another project site off Taiwan.
CWind Taiwan commercial director Ethan Wang said: “We’ve been supporting WPD in their GuanYin and Yunlin projects since 2018 and we’re pleased to continue to provide critical services to the customer with this additional scope of work.
“It is both a great honour that our fleet and crew are widely recognised by our clients and a ringing endorsement of our decision to provide market-leading, fully localised solutions to the Taiwanese offshore wind industry.”
