Dalby Offshore has ordered from Alicat Workboats a new 26-metre wind farm service vessel.
The new boat will be the eighth vessel Alicat has built for Dalby, but will be the first 26-metre South Boats IOW design.
The new catamaran will have a twin Man V12-1650 main engine coupled to Hamilton HM721 water jet propulsion, creating speeds of up to 30 knots.
It will be capable of carrying 20 tonnes of cargo, 24 passengers and have accommodation for eight people.
The vessel is scheduled for delivery in June.
Dalby Offshore’s Stuart McNiven said: “This cements our position in our chosen market and with the order of two sister vessels in 2017, we see this as one of the largest orders placed in the sector to date.”
