Damen completes Thor facelift

GeoSea jack-up Thor has left Damen Shiprepair’s Dunkerque yard after a four-day paint job and thruster inspection.

The 70-metre DP1 vessel (pictured) was repainted in the new DEME Group livery at the French site.

Thor departed for Antwerp in Belgium following the stay.

Damen Belgium sales manager Carlos de Vliegere said: “Damen Shiprepair & Conversion has an excellent relationship with the DEME Group. During 2014 and 2015 we drydocked and repaired eleven vessels for them.

“At Damen we do our utmost best to continue and strengthen our relationship with the DEME group. We look forward to receiving the next vessel for drydocking and maintenance at one of our yards.”
