SeaZip Offshore has taken delivery of two Damen FCS 2610s, expanding its fleet of specialised servicing vessels to six.
SeaZip 5 and SeaZip 6 are fitted with key modifications which will allow for a 25% increase in loading capacity, the company said. Both vessels will be pushed into service immediately.
The purchase of the FCS 2610s was financed with bank loans and private equity investment.
“By strengthening the hull in certain areas, the vessels are able to sit 5 cm lower in the water,” said SeaZip’s offshore services managing director Jan Reier Arends.
“This will allow us to load an additional 5 tonnes of cargo – this is a 25% increase of loading capacity. We will be able to carry a lot more equipment and materials.”
