Maersk Training has started offering an entire basic maintenance training course that follows the standards released by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) this week.
The Danish company’s facility in Esbjerg is the first GWO-certified centre to offer the three new modules, it said.
The training in hydraulics, mechanics and electricity is targeted at candidates with no previous experience of these systems, even if it may up-skill candidates with knowledge not related to wind.
GWO released the new standards to develop common industry training and best practice for the basic technical and safety skills to service and maintain wind turbines globally.
The new modules will be available at Maersk Training’s centre in Newcastle soon, it said.
