The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) has received applications from Wind Estate to conduct preliminary studies into the development of three ‘open door’ offshore wind farms with a combined capacity of up to 1812MW.
One project is 17km off the coast in an area north of Djursland and east of Randers Fjord, called Trea Mollebugt, would see the company look to install 60-62 turbines with a total capacity of 434MW to 720MW, DEA said.
The second is to an area south of Samso called Paludan Flak, where Wind Estate wants to install between 19 and 22 turbines with a total capacity of 154MW to 228MW.
This project would be in the same area as the 10-turbine Samso project, which the company wants to repower with seven new and larger machines, DEA said.
The third project is planned for an area southeast of Mon and east of Falster, which is called Kadet Banke.
Here Wind Estate wants to install 72 turbines with total capacity of between 504MW and 864MW, the agency said.
DEA said that its has sent the applications to several authorities and municipalities to best assess whether it is relevant to carry out feasibility studies for the projects.
“The responses provided by the authorities will make a valuable contribution to the assessment of the relevance of the applications,” it added.
