The Danish Energy Agency has granted Copenhagen company Hofor permission to carry out preliminary studies for two offshore wind farms totalling 410MW in Oresund off Denmark.
Hofor is planning to build the 250MW Aflandshage and 160MW North Flint projects in the Oresund, DEA said.
Aflandshage would comprise between 25 and 63 turbines and North Flint 16 to 40, with both facilities located 8km from shore.
The hardware at the duo would have individual capacity of between 4MW and 10MW and a maximum height of 220 metres.
The Aflandshage feasibility study will take place in an area between Stevns and Amager covering about 65 square kilometres, of which 44km squared would be covered by turbines, the DEA said.
A feasibility study for North Flint will cover 42km squared, with the wind farm to cover 17 square kilometres.
DEA added that the permit for the studies does not giver Hofor the right to build the projects, but just carry out specific site investigations.
The results will be compiled in an environmental impact report, which must be submitted to the DEA by 31 December 2020, it said.
