The Danish Energy Agency has opened two new sites to support experimental wind turbines.
The locations will be established inside and outside the two national test centres for large wind turbines at Østerild and Høvsøre, respectively.
It is hoped that the facilities will help to ensure the Danish wind power industry’s competitiveness for the benefit of the nation’s jobs, exports and the climate.
The inside site can accommodate 50MW, while the outside pool is suitable for up 30MW.
Experimental wind turbines within the national test centres that receive commitments receive 1.97 øre/kWh.
This corresponds to the highest price surcharge among the winning offers in the technology-neutral tender 2019.
Experimental wind turbines outside the national test centres that receive commitments receive 1.54 øre/kWh, which corresponds to the production-weighted average of the price supplements among the winning offers in the technology-neutral tender 2019.
Price surcharge after the pool for test wind turbines, within the two national test centres, is granted for a period of 3 years from grid connection.
The price supplement after the pool for test wind turbines without two national test centres is granted for a period of 20 years from the time of grid connection.
For both pools, a decision on a commitment for a price supplement takes place in the order in which the Danish Energy Agency receives adequate applications – with the most recent application on 22 November 2021.
