Universal Foundation has started industrialised suction bucket installation trials as part of Denmark’s Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program.
The company said the first and second installations have been completed for the project, which also includes Siemens Gamesa, Aalborg University, Fred Olsen Windcarrier and Offshoreenergy.dk.

It added that Fred Olsen Windcarrier vessel Jill is currently jacked-up to carry out the work.
The project is backed by a €3.8m grant from the Danish government.
It is seeking to demonstrate how an industrialised suction bucket concept can cut installation costs of offshore wind foundations.
