The registration window to enter this year’s CfD Allocation Round 7 officially opened this week (9 July).
Developers have until the end of the application window, currently scheduled for 27 August according to the UK government’s indicative timeline, to submit their company registrations via the EMR Delivery Body’s online CfD portal
Applications for the auction can be submitted from 7 August for all technologies including offshore wind, subject to confirmation of the indicative schedule by energy department DESNZ.
If adopted, the timeline would mean a five-day sealed bidding window opening for offshore wind as early as 1 October or as late as 3 December, if appeals are requested by non-qualifying applications.
Results would then be announced between 19-22 December at the earliest and 20-23 February 2026 at the latest, depending on which timeline the round runs to.
