The first turbine at the 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm off the Norfolk coast has started supplying electricity to the UK grid.
The 6MW Siemens machine began delivering power on 7 February, project developer Statoil said.
A2Sea jack-up Sea Challenger completed the installation of the first turbine a month ago and the remaining 66 machines will be installed by the fourth quarter of the year.
This work is expected to involve as much as 2000 vessel days, according to Statoil.
“This is a significant milestone for one of the largest offshore wind farms in Europe,” Statoil executive vice-president for technology, projects and drilling Margareth Øvrum said.
“I am particularly satisfied with the on time deliveries and the health, safety and environmental performance so far.”
