Sembmarine SLP’s offshore substation topside for the 402MW Dudgeon wind farm is set to be installed later this week.
The four-deck piece of kit will be put in place courtesy of Seaway Heavy Lifting’s Oleg Strashnov at the site off the Norfolk coast with Siemens Transmission and Distribution then starting connection work.
The barge is due to leave Lowestoft on 5 August and installation is expected to take place within 48 hours.
Sembmarine managing director Paul Thomson said the company has some offshore work to do when the topside is installed, but basically it was “now finished on schedule and we have done what we said we would do”.
Dudgeon, which is ownded by Statoil, Statkraft and Masdar, will comprise 67 Siemens 6MW turbines and is scheduled to come online next year.
