Dutch engineering firm TWD has opened a new branch office in Taipei, Taiwan, to support the growth of offshore wind in the Asian Pacific region
The company said the Taiwan team will also be working closely with specialists located at the company’s headquarters in the Netherlands.
The Taipei office will be led by Thijs Roethof, who holds almost seven years of experience working in the offshore wind industry.
TWD has been involved in method engineering and equipment design for monopiles, pin piles, jackets and wind turbine installation campaigns in both Taiwan and Japan.
This includes work on the 640MW Yunlin and 900MW Changhua offshore wind farms in Taiwan, and the 140MW Akita Noshiro project in Japan.
TWD added that it also involved in work on several undisclosed projects in Taiwan and Japan.
