Dutch outfit N-Sea Offshore Wind has won a contract to survey, identify and dispose of unexploded ordnance (UXO) at the 900MW BorWin3 grid hub in the German North Sea.
The scope of the job includes a geophysical survey to identify potential UXO.
It will also involve the disposal to shore or safe detonation at sea of UXO if deemed necessary by the survey results.
BorWin3 is expected to be fully commissioned in 2019 and will connect the 500MW Hohe See and 400MW Global Tech 1 offshore wind farms to the grid.
