Dutch subsea technology company Seatools has won a contract from Seaway Heavy Lifting for the design and delivery of a piling template instrumentation and control system for the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm off the Scottish coast.
The contract includes the mechanical, electric, hydraulic and software design of the system.
The work is set to take six months, Seatools said.
Seatools managing director Jan Frumau added: “Our approach will allow Seaway Heavy Lifting to perform effective, uninterrupted subsea pile driving operations delivering highly accurate results.”
Piling is expected to commence in April 2017.
