UK engineering specialist EDS HV Group worked with other contractors to restore power during a planned outage at 504MW Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm off the Suffolk coast of England.
EDS was responsible for the re-connection and testing of the array cable at the IG substation during the planned outage.
Four contractors completed the works at the same time, EDS said.
EDS group managing director Ken Ritson said: “This is an excellent example of the professionalism and high skill level of the EDS team.
“To make this project a success, and maximise Gabbard’s network availability, EDS had to work seamlessly with the other parties in a safe and efficient manner. We are very pleased with the outcome.”
Greater Gabbard site manager Kenny Beardsell said: “This is a huge success for the site and my sincere thanks to all involved to ensure the safe completion of the works.
“The collaboration and team efforts that went into this project and the restoration of as many turbines as possible has been fantastic. We truly can achieve a great deal when the team works together.”
