EEW loads out first Hai Long pin piles

EEW Group has loaded the first 12 pin piles for the Northland Power-led 1GW Hai Long offshore wind project at the quayside in the port of Gwangyang, South Korea.

The pin piles are to be shipped to the port of Tainan in Taiwan, where they will be further processed to the installation area.

The production at EEW KHPC is almost completed and the load-out is on schedule. The next piles will be shipped in the upcoming month.

A total of 156 pin piles will be transferred from Gwangyang port to Taiwan.

“We appreciate EEW KPHC’s achievements in safely delivering the high-quality pin piles,” said Tim Kittelhake, CEO of Hai Long Offshore Wind Taiwan.

“This success is an important milestone for both Hai Long and EEW KHPC. It not only shows that Hai Long is steadily moving towards completion, but also proves that EEW KPHC is a trustworthy partner and respected offshore wind supplier.

“Hai Long will play an important role in helping Taiwan achieve its renewable energy target of 15 GW of offshore wind to be constructed between 2026 and 2035. Once completed, it will be one of the largest offshore wind projects in Taiwan, providing much needed clean energy to the grid and significant long-term, sustainable value to the local economy.”

Kwan-Gyu Tak, Managing Director of EEW KHPC, added: “We are delighted that the production of the pin piles is on time and of the highest quality. The load-out marks the completion of a successful project. We have an excellent working relationship with the Hai Long team and look forward to further large-scale offshore wind projects.”
