EnBW has chosen Bureau Technical Services to provide quality assurance services on the foundations and WTG tower packages for the 900MW He Dreiht Offshore Wind Farm.
He Dreiht is located approximately 85 kilometres northwest of the island of Borkum and approximately 110 kilometres west of Heligoland.
The project is expected to be operational by the end of 2025
It will be one of Europe’s largest offshore wind power projects. He Dreiht will be built using Vestas’ latest generation V236-15MW offshore wind turbines and will be the first zero-subsidy offshore wind farm in Germany.
The V236-15MW wind turbine is one of the world’s most powerful wind turbine designs, with a single turbine unit capable of generating up to 80 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity a year.
The team at Bureau Technical Services will carry out manufacturing surveillance and supervision on both of the awarded packages across Sif and multiple Smulders European manufacturing facilities in the UK, Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, Germany and Denmark.
BTS operations director Tom Greaves said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded a contract for the foundations & WTG fabrication scopes after a very competitive tender process.
“It is a testament to our experience and capability within the Offshore Wind sector that sees us being awarded our 21st offshore wind farm project with He Dreiht, the award of this contract aligns with our growth strategy for offshore wind, and we look forward to working in partnership with EnBW to deliver a successful project.”
