TenneT has contracted a joint venture of Engie Solutions and Smulder’s subsidiary Iemants for the 700MW offshore transformer substation at the Hollandse Kust West Alpha off the Netherlands.
The contract includes the engineering, procurement, construction, offshore installation, connection and testing of the offshore transformer substation.
The topside and the jacket will be built separately on land and installed at sea on site using a crane ship.
The transformer is scheduled to be commissioned in 2024.
Thee jacket will be 49 metres high and consist of 1930 tonnes of steel.
On top of this, the topside will have three inner floors and an outer deck.
The topside will weigh approximately 4300 tonnes and will be 47 metres long, 35 metres wide and 25 metres high excluding antenna tower and upper deck crane.
Earlier this year the consortium won the contract for the construction and installation of the offshore transformer substation Hollandse Kust North.
