Eolus has announced that it has initiated a strategic review of its offshore wind business to “create the best conditions for permitting and realisation of the projects”.
The review includes the option to search for a strategic partner with competence and resources that can contribute to increasing the speed in development and realisation of the offshore projects.
As of 31 March, Eolus had an offshore wind portfolio comprising nine projects totalling an estimated capacity of 10GW.
In addition, Eolus is developing several other offshore projects that are in an earlier development phase.
The offshore projects are in Sweden, Finland and the Baltics.
In July, Eolus submitted the application for environmental permit for the 1000MW project Västvind, west of Gothenburg in Sweden to the government and to the Land and Environment Court.
Permit applications for additional offshore projects are planned to be submitted in the near future.
Per Witalisson, chief executive of Eolus, said: “We want to do everything we can to increase the success rate for our offshore projects.
“One part of that is securing that we in all areas have the resources needed and can keep a high speed in the development process.”
