The Port of Esbjerg has kicked off expansion plans, which include two new roll on/roll off (RO/RO) ramps that could be used for offshore wind work.
The port’s chief operating officer Jesper Bank told reNEWS that, as offshore wind developers have introduced RO/RO vessels, the two ramps should be “attractive” to the sector.
The expansion also includes an extension of the existing Libra Quay with a new mooring pier.
Sheet piling and foundation works are currently underway and the new facility is expected to be completed by November.
